White water sports in West Virginia is the biggest outdoor sporting industry in the State. Thousands of visitors spend the day on our roller coaster rapids every spring, summer and fall.

The New River in Fayette County is the most popular spot in the State. Hundreds of raft companies operate the New River.

The best time of the year to go rafting is either after heavy rains or when the US Corps of Engineers lower the Summersville Lake during the fall.

The Corp lets water out every weekend (Sept-Oct) which makes for some wild rides. View the Corps schedule.
