Step back to the late 1800s for a look at West Virginia farm life located at a very unique State Park in Harrison County. The Park was originally a 236 acre farm owned and operated by the Watters Smith family from 1792 - 1949. The farm was willed to the State by Burr Smith to honor his great-great-grandfather. An additional 252 acre farm and many antique furnishings were added to the park by Rachel Smith Hershey in 1974. The park is now 532 acres. |

The park has 2 museums. A modern building with gifts, snacks and farming antiques. The 2nd museum is an 1875 furnished home built by the Smith family. Guided tours of the home and museum are conducted 11am - 7pm., Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. Free admission. The Smith farm features many different farm buildings used over the years including a cattle barn, corn crib, hog pen, smoke house, cellar, wood shop and blacksmith shop. |

Watters Smith State Park also offers a playground, swimming pool, hiking trails, activity building and 2 picnic areas.
