Observation Tower

Surrounded by thousands of acres of National Forest is the highest point in West Virginia, Spruce Knob at 4,863' above sea level.

Spruce knob has a 1/2 mile hiking trail, parking lot and picnic tables. The highlight is the views (weather permitting) from the observation tower.

The roads to the top of the mountain are gravel (a little rough). The weather can be harsh, so be prepared for anything.

Spruce Knob is located close to Seneca Rocks (35 minutes), Spruce Knob Lake (20 minutes) and the Sinks of Gandy.

Camp sites are available at the Spruce Knob Lake campground.
