Pricketts Fort State Park

Located in Marion County, WV. Located off Interstate 79 - exit 139.

During summer months they are open daily and offer a look at everyday life during the late 1700s of the settlers.

The fort was built in 1976 and has several staff and volunteers informing and entertaining visitors. Admission is $6/adult and $3/child.

Staff dress in authentic clothing and there are several small cabins that can be viewed inside the fort.

Special programs are scheduled each year. The dairy program featured goat milking, making butter, cottage cheese and putting it all together for a meal.

Prickett's Fort is located beside a rails-to-trails bicycle/walking path. So bring your bike and cruise along the river!

The buildings feature just about everything a settler would use in the 1700s. Hand made tools, brooms, pottery, clothing and hardware.

Local herbs and plants were used and part of the exhibits.

The State Park is located beside the Monongahela River with boat launch facilities for power boats, canoes and kayaks.

Kids get a chance to milk the goats !

They also had 2 baby goats running around. The children loved petting them!
