Carl John LeGursky Carl John Legursky, son of John Lee Legursky and Mary J. Lagowski, was born on September 13, 1932 in Raleigh County West Virginia, died on September 22, 1999 in Monroe North Carolina at age 67, and was buried on October 1, 1999 in Tyler Mountain Gardens,Cross Lanes West Virginia. General Notes: He was living in Buckannon Upshur County West Virginia at the time of his death on Sep 22 1999 in Monroe County North Carolina. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and a recipient of the Silver Star and three Purple Hearts he retired from the West Virginia State Police as a lieutenant in 1984 with 23 years service. He was then appointed chief of police in Beckley West Virginia and held that position for five years, when Governor Carperton appointed him warden of the Moundsville penitentiary on Jan 1989.He left in 1992 Carl Legursky is a legend with the West Virginia State Police. |
