John Pride Served in the Civil War and according to his Grandson, Dawson E. Pride, John didn't see any combat action. It appears that his duties were fairly close to Marion County area and that his wife, Hannah (Spicer) accompanied John on some occasions. Cletis Pride, Great Grandson of John & Hannah remembers Hannah telling him that the Pride family drove stock (farm animals) into the woods when Confederate soilders came through Bunners Ridge.
