President Bush signed a massive 286.4 BILLION dollar ( $286,400,000,000.00) transportation bill. What's that got to do with us? Well, our West Virginia Congressman, Allen Mollohan (who is the son of former Congressman Robert Mollohan) just happens to be on the House Committee on appropriations. That committee decides where the cash goes. Anyhow, West Virginia received $ 380,464,000.00 chunk of the transportation bill. Great! you may say... But hold on, is it so great? What is West Virginia, er, I mean Mollohan & company doing with the cash? The one thing that catches my eye is the $ 14,600,000.00, yep, 14.6 MILLION dollars being poured into the new Fairmont interchange. That's not counting the millions of dollars already spent on the new intersection.Add another $24,000,000.00 spent on the Jefferson Street Bridge (High level bridge) in 2001. Our existing roads are falling apart and Mr. Mollohan secures multi-millions for a road to downtown Fairmont. Wow, what a vision. Not hard to see that Mollohan hasn't driven a car around here in 20 years. He's been living in Washington D.C way too long! Worse yet... He is on the take! Mollohan's financial disclosure reports showed a significant jump in his net worth between 2000 and 2004. In 2000 Mollohan reported he had assets worth between $170,012 to $562,000. In 2004 Mollohan reported he had assets of $6.3 million to $24.9 million.
The question is: Mr. Mollohan, "Where did you get $23,200,000?" Mollohan is under investigation by NLPC, which will hand over it's findings to the FBI Mollohan's has also recieved campaign donations from MZM Inc. which was taking bribes. No doubt, Mollohan is getting super rich as a congressman. West Virginia sent Mollohan to Washington to represent us and he's busy working for himself. Mollohan is running for election in 2006 and it's time to get him out of Washington. He cannot be trusted to represent West Virginians. |
